Material: Linoleum Reduction Prints

These multi-layer prints was a process based impression of my journey through religion and conflict of societal judgments of how one forms an identity. It became an opportunity to create a self portrait of this distress through an artistic approach. The realization of how miniscule mankind is on earth can be overwhelming, which is why some turn to religion to seek solace and comfort. However, the print warns us not to let the fear of religious guilt overpower our lives. Instead, we should focus on the present moment and appreciate the simple joys of life. The print also highlights the importance of decay as food for earth, as it is the one thing that can bring us back to the natural world and remind us of our connection to it.
