Thinking Like An Octopus

Materials: Nylon mesh, rope, lead weights, and found materials from TRIUMF

The artists, scholars, and physicists faced a learning curve in the beginning of our collaboration to create the collective artwork titled: "Thinking Like an Octopus." As a team, we worked together to gather fuel and extend our imaginative tentacles in unique directions towards the common goal of making sense of Dark Matter, which was the focus of the physicist's research. The team emerged from the same body, which allowed for a collective effort to come together in a cohesive manner. However, things became a bit obscure as they delved deeper into research, but we persevered to unveil the mysteries of Dark Matter. The result was an artwork that showcased the power of collaboration and the pursuit of knowledge as we manipulated the balance of gravity and tension using found materials from TRIUMF; Canada's national particle accelerator centre.
