Hidden Dimension

Emily Carr University of Art & Design

Materials: Cotton string + animated projections

The mycelium, which lies beneath our feet and is often ignored, is the subject of a three-part installation. The exhibition aims to explore its nature and educate people about its importance. The installation consists of two projections at either end of the gallery that highlight different types of movement present in nature - Confluence and Motility as a Community, making the experience more engaging and immersive. By combining white material with the white projection, I aim to emphasize the concept of presence and absence existing in harmony. This installation offers a unique opportunity to learn about the mycelium and its vital role in the ecosystem. The exhibition is not only informative but also aesthetically interactive, connecting the hidden world to a common space.
